THE STORY

MY Story

HOW IT STARTED?

My passion for writing? Oh, it goes way back—like high school back. Or at least that's the first time I realized putting thoughts on paper was less risky than saying them out loud at the dinner table.

It all started with patriotism, fueled by teenage enthusiasm and a home filled with academic debates. Growing up in a family where forming your own opinion was as crucial as learning to respect others' perspectives meant our dining table discussions often felt like mini UN summits. Naturally, I decided to channel my budding patriotism into my first article, boldly titled “India and Terrorism”—a deep dive inspired by the 9/11 attacks. Pretty ambitious for a high schooler, right?

But before that article, there was the infamous Seventh Grade Debate of Doom. Picture this: my parents, myself, and a topic so fiery it could burn toast—Afghan history. Let’s just say my argument didn’t survive my dad’s counterpoints. I was crushed (dramatic seventh-grade style), but instead of sulking, I hit the books. My mission? To out-debate my dad next time. Did I win the rematch? I honestly have no idea, but I walked away with a bigger lesson: context is king, history is queen, and opinions without research are like tea without sugar—bitter and unnecessary.

Looking back, those family debates didn’t just shape my writing; they shaped my worldview. They taught me to dig deeper, understand perspectives, and embrace inclusivity—even when it felt as comfortable as a pair of jeans two sizes too small. And honestly, I wouldn’t trade those fiery dinner-table discussions for anything. Except maybe a win against my dad. Still waiting on that.
